Insurance Claim Documentation and Evidence Preservation

A claim file is only as good as the facts collected at the start. These services put a neutral, timestamped field record into the file while the evidence still exists.

Overview

Field facts for the people who evaluate the claim

Adjusters, attorneys and claimants evaluate claims from desks, often hundreds of miles from where the loss occurred. What they rely on is the record someone made in the field: photographs, measurements, the names of people who saw what happened, the location of cameras, the condition of a vehicle before it was repaired. Delator Claims Division makes that record.

The services in this area are organized by the documentation need rather than by vehicle or peril. Some are tied to a claim posture, such as first-party, third-party or uninsured motorist. Others are tasks that cut across claim types: preserving evidence, locating witnesses, canvassing for video, or documenting condition for a party entering an appraisal process.

How a deployment runs

From request to delivered record

  1. RequestCall dispatch or submit the request form with the location, loss type and urgency.
  2. DeployDispatch assigns the nearest available licensed field investigator through the statewide network.
  3. DocumentPhotographs, video, measurements and factual notes are captured once the scene is safe to work.
  4. PreserveFiles are timestamped, organized and kept in their original form with a record of who captured them.
  5. ReportThe package is delivered securely to the requesting party, typically the same day.
In practice

Neutral on purpose

On these assignments Delator has no stake in the outcome. Field personnel do not estimate, value or negotiate, and they do not characterise what they see. That restraint is what lets the same record be used by a carrier, a policyholder's attorney and an appraisal umpire without argument about how it was produced.

Insurance carriers and their counsel who need an investigation rather than a neutral record, including recorded statements, liability investigation or field adjusting, will find those services under insurance investigation.

Scope of workDocumentation only

On this assignment Delator field personnel record what is physically present: photographs, video, measurements and factual notes. They do not adjust, appraise or value the loss, do not determine coverage, cause or fault, and do not represent any party to the claim.

Delator Claims Division is not a law firm, an insurer or an engineering firm, and nothing on this page is legal advice.

Questions

Common questions

Who can request claim documentation?

Anyone with a legitimate interest in the claim: insurance carriers, third-party administrators, attorneys for any party, self-insured businesses, and individual policyholders or claimants handling their own claim.

Is this the same as hiring an adjuster?

No. Claim documentation is a factual record. Delator does not adjust claims for policyholders and does not act as a public adjuster. Field adjusting is offered separately and only to insurance carriers.

What do I receive?

Timestamped photographs and video, measurements and reference points where the scene allows, and factual field notes, delivered securely to the requesting party, typically the same day.

Can the documentation be used in litigation?

The record is prepared so that it can be explained by the person who made it. Whether and how it is used in a proceeding is a matter for the attorneys and the court.
